CONCERN TITAN-2, JSC, a big Russian Engineering Holding, became a member of NACEC. Decision on accepting a new member was taken at the meeting of the Presidium of National Association of Construction Engineering Consultants (NACEC), which took place on October 30. Gennady Sakharov, NACEC President, Director on Capital Investments of Rosatom State Corporation, Director of Branch Centre of the Capital Construction of Rosatom State Corporation, emphasized that NACEC growth due to membership of such experienced companies as TITAN-2 proves that the Association is establishing credibility among the professional community.
Major areas of NACEC growth in 2016 became one of the key issues discussed at the Presidium meeting. For example, it was mentioned that NACEC experts will focus next year mainly on development on legal and regulatory framework to ensure top-priority development of industrial investment and construction engineering in Russia. Members of the Presidium emphasized that first steps were taken in that regard: NACEC was officially approved as the developer of professional standards of a Construction Engineering Consultant, and now it is important to keep the current pace. In parallel to developing professional standards, NACEC will work closely on educational programmes, with a particular focus on FIDIC contract training programmes – in the near future the latest revision of contracts will be translated into Russian and first FIDIC trainers will be trained. ‘First training courses on using FIDIC contracts will be launched in the first half of 2016’, said Fedor Krutykh, NACEC Executive Director.
Participants of the meeting also decided that NACEC should be very proactive in building international relations. Oleg Kaschenko, NACEC Vice-President, said that NACEC Secretariat received a lot of proposal letters from international associations, members of FIDIC, on building relations. In particular, a proposal from Bulgarian Association of Consulting Engineers and Architects (BACEA), Federation of Consultants from Islamic Countries (FCIC), Finnish Association of Consulting Firms, Kazakhstan National Association of Professional Engineers and Consultants (KNAPEC), and many others. Oleg Kaschenko mentioned it was a good trigger to make NACEC a future centre of attraction for engineering consulting throughout the former Soviet Union.
Besides, a series of documents were approved at the meeting, in particular, Regulations on NACEC Partnership Council.
