During the business meeting the parties agreed that in the near future they would develop a “road map” on development of cooperation and sign an agreement. They decided that Russian NACEC will become a single point of contact to interface with AACE.

NACEC and AACE representatives agreed to cooperate on a broad spectrum of initiatives, including the analysis of improvement of cost engineering system efficiency, the development of cost estimation methodology, making arrangements and hosting joint conferences, seminars, meetings, and other events.

One of the key areas for cooperation is joint efforts on training and retraining personnel on cost engineering programmes, joint participation in developing personnel certification and appraisal systems.

“It is especially important to determine a proper ratio between functionality and cost of large investment and construction projects; AACE standards are the ones which allow achieving such results”, Gennady Sakharov summarized.

The Moscow Spring Workshop included presentations and software demos showcasing Project Planning and Cost Control. Besides, AACE leading practitioners shared their project execution experience during round tables and seminars. Thus NACEC experts had an opportunity to get acquainted with AACE Recommended Practices in project progress evaluation and specifics of Earned Value Management (EVM) applications.
