This became known on the professional holiday of a Construction Engineer celebrated in Russia on August 5, 2015 during the meeting devoted to BIM-technologies.
Building Information Modeling makes it possible to perform cost estimation of the whole life-cycle of a building and to manage a facility at all construction stages.
According to Leonid Stavitskiy, the First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation, there are 23 pilot projects being executed today in the Russian Federation, where all nuances of applying this technology are tried and tested.
It is planned that expert review of these projects will be completed and update of regulatory framework will be started by the end of the year to create conditions for wide use of BIM-technologies in Russia.
This work will be conducted by the Ministry of Construction together with the community of experts – construction, architect, design engineers, and consultants.
